The interface frame: menu, header, error page and document preview
What you see around the working area: the left menu, the header icons, the no-permission and error pages, the shared document preview and the company picker.
Every screen of the system is shown in the same frame: the menu on the left, the header icons at the top and the working area in the middle. This article explains the parts of the frame and what you see when you lack a permission or a screen fails.
The header icons
- Notification bell: the number shows your unread notifications; click it to see the five latest. Details: Async jobs and notifications.
- Error Log link: for the super administrator or for users with access to the error log.
- Broom icon: clears the cache and temporary files, super administrator only (description).
- Subscription warning: appears for an unpaid fee, the end of a trial period or an upcoming renewal.
When a function does not open
- Click the menu item or button.
- Without permission, the Permission required page appears with the text "You do not have permission to open this function."
- If the function is available in a subscription and you may order it, the page also shows the Subscribe button, which takes you to the offer page.
- Use Back to return or Dashboard to go to the start page.
If a screen fails while it is being built, the error page also appears inside the usual frame, so you can carry on from the left menu. Users with the debug permission also see the last lines of the error log there.
Document preview
All modules show documents in the same preview window. Its buttons are Full screen, Close, Open file in a new tab, Download, Previous and Next, Metadata, and the zoom buttons (Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit to window, Actual size (100%)).
Company picker and store picker
Where you choose a company on a form, the New company (opens in a new tab) button next to the name field is only shown if you may create companies. Where a store can be chosen, the default store appears as "Default" among the tick boxes.
Example
Anna Kovács, an accountant at Sample Ltd., has only been given invoices. Her menu therefore only shows the invoice item. A colleague sends her a link to the contract list; when she opens it, the Permission required page appears. Because the function is available in a subscription and Anna may order it, the page also shows the Subscribe button.
