Saved filters in lists

How to save a list's filter and sort order under a name, load it again with one click, and overwrite or delete it later.

If you often filter a list by the same conditions, you can save the filter under a name. Later you can load the filter fields, the sort order and the page size again with one click from the selector. A saved filter belongs to you only and appears only on the screen where you saved it.

Saving and loading a filter

  1. Open the list, for example the invoice list, set the fields of the filter panel and click Filter.
  2. Next to the Saved filters selector of the filter panel, click Save the current filter.
  3. Type a meaningful name into Filter name.
  4. Click Save as new. If you loaded a saved filter earlier, an overwrite button with that filter's name also appears; it updates the existing one. Cancel closes the window.
  5. Later, choose the name in the Saved filters selector: the list loads immediately with the saved conditions.
  6. To delete, choose the filter, click Delete the selected saved filter and confirm.

Points to note

  • The name is required.
  • You can only overwrite and delete your own saved filters.
  • A saved filter grants no access: when loaded, the list shows data according to your own permissions. If you no longer have access to a company, its rows do not appear.
  • Saving and deleting need a separate permission; without it the selector can only load filters.

Example

At the beginning of every month Peter Szabó reviews the unpaid incoming invoices of Sample Ltd. He sets the filter and saves it as "Sample Ltd – open incoming". The next month he picks the name in the selector and the list appears at once with the usual filter.
