Cleaning up interrupted uploads
Reviewing and deleting interrupted chunked, large and direct Drive uploads, so that part files do not occupy web hosting space.
An interrupted upload leaves a session behind, and its part file keeps using web hosting space. On this screen you review these sessions and delete the ones you no longer need – together with the part file.
The list
- Open Upload sessions.
- Filter by Purpose (iPhone backup, Document (chunked), Document (straight to Drive)) and Status (Open, Complete, Aborted, Expired).
- Each row shows the File name, the progress (e.g. "1.2 GB of 4.0 GB (30%)") and whether there is a Part file on the web hosting or the file was Uploaded to the Drive.
Deletion
- Select the sessions you no longer need and click the red bin icon (Delete).
- Confirm. The message says how many sessions were deleted and how much space was freed.
Warning: the part file is removed from the web hosting. A file already uploaded to the Drive stays there, but the system loses its reference. Sessions you have no permission for are skipped.
Example
Uploading a 4 GB archive stopped at 30% and the uploader started again. The old "Open" session keeps a 1.2 GB part file on the web hosting; after deleting it the message reads: "Deleted 1 upload session(s), 1.2 GB freed on the web hosting."
