Async jobs and notifications
How to follow the progress of queries running in the background, how to stop them, and how to handle the messages arriving on the header bell and in the Notifications list.
Longer operations, such as the NAV invoice query, run in the background so you can keep working. You can follow their progress in the Async jobs list and are told about the result through the header bell and the Notifications list.
Async jobs
- Open System → Async jobs. The super administrator sees all jobs, other users only their own.
- The list columns are Job, Progress, Items, Started / Finished. The progress of a running job refreshes by itself.
- To stop a running or waiting job, click the row's Stop job icon and confirm: "Stop this job? Already downloaded data is kept; remaining items are cancelled."
- The row's Notifications icon (bell) takes you to the job's notifications.
- Delete selected jobs with the bin icon.
You start a NAV invoice query from the invoice list filter. The system splits the query into time windows per company, only for active companies with a tax number and a NAV login. If it finishes within a few seconds, the result appears at once; otherwise the job continues in the background.
Notifications
- The header bell shows the number of unread notifications; click it to see the five latest. New notifications also pop up as messages.
- Open the full list under System → Notifications. Filter by Type, State and Job ID.
- Mark one as read with the row's Mark read icon, or all of them with Mark all read in the header. Opening the list alone does not mark anything as read.
- Open the source takes you to the screen the notification is about.
- Delete the selected ones with the bin icon, or all your own notifications with Delete all; this cannot be undone.
Example
Anna Kovács starts the NAV query for a whole month of Sample Ltd. from the invoice list. The reply says the job runs in the background. Anna keeps working; ten minutes later a new notification on the bell tells her the query is done. Open the source takes her to the refreshed invoice list.
