Tax number check and data refresh
Checking a partner's tax number at the tax authority and in the EU VIES system, applying differences, bulk re-validation and taking bank accounts from invoices.
The system checks a partner's tax number at the Hungarian tax authority (Hungarian tax number) and in the EU VIES system (EU VAT number). The result appears in the partner's Validity, and differing data can be applied with one click.
Checking one partner
- Open the partner's data sheet (Partners → blue edit icon).
- Click NAV query. From the 8-digit tax number the system fetches the name, short name, full tax number, group VAT number, addresses and validity.
- If fetched and stored data differ, the difference is shown field by field. Tick the fields to apply (name, short name, tax number, registered office) and click Apply selected.
- For an EU partner click VIES to check the EU VAT number.
- Validate partner does both and aligns the addresses with those of the tax authority.
With a wrong format nothing is queried: the first 8 characters of a Hungarian tax number must be digits. If VIES is unavailable you get an error message; try again later.
Bulk and supplementary actions
- Re-validate tax numbers (list header): re-checks partners with unchecked or invalid tax numbers in batches, only within your access.
- Bank accounts from invoices (list header): assigns the bank accounts found in recorded supplier invoices to the partners, in batches.
- Sync from recorded invoices (data sheet): takes addresses and bank accounts from the partner's invoices and ends with a summary of added addresses and accounts.
Example
Example plc has changed its name. After NAV query on its data sheet the Name field shows a difference; tick it and click Apply selected. The validity date is updated.
