Ledger card and reposting to another ledger account

The postings of one ledger account in date order with a running balance, and moving selected postings to another ledger account.

The ledger card shows the postings of a single ledger account in date order, paged, with a running balance. From here you can open the document and move wrongly posted items to the correct ledger account in one step.

Viewing the card

  1. Open General ledger → Ledger card, or the business card icon in an expanded trial balance row.
  2. Choose Client group, Client and Ledger account; as needed Supplier, Customer, Period from and Period to.
  3. Click Filter. Each page starts with the opening balance before the page and shows a running balance per row.
  4. The document icon (Open document) opens the source document; Back returns to where you came from.

Reposting items

  1. Tick the postings to move.
  2. Click the two-way arrow button (Repost).
  3. In Move to ledger account choose the target account and click Apply.
Reposting only replaces the ledger account; the amount and the debit/credit direction stay the same. The target account must exist in the chart of accounts and be active: “That ledger account is inactive. Choose an active one.” If nothing changed, you get a warning, not a success message.

Example

On Sample Ltd.'s card three stationery purchases were posted to the maintenance account. The accountant ticks the three items and moves them to the correct expense account with Repost; the card no longer shows them.
