Managing SMTP protocols
The legacy SMTP settings list: record an SMTP server here and check it with a real test message using Test Connection.
The SMTP Protocolls list stores the legacy SMTP settings and offers a connection test for them. The system now sends mail through sending channels; set those up under Sending channels.
Adding and testing an SMTP setting
- Open Email → SMTP Protokoll.
- Click the + button at the top right.
- Fill in Protocol Name, SMTP Host, Username, Password, Port, Encryption and Timeout (sec), and Partner ID (Partner) if needed.
- Click Save.
- Click Test Connection. The system connects, logs in and sends a real test message.
Messages
- If the connection fails, the message starts with "SMTP Connection Error:" followed by the server's answer.
- Saving does not check the fields; a wrong setting only shows up in the test.
Example
You add an "Office SMTP" setting with port 587 and TLS encryption, then click Test Connection. The test message arrives at the store's e-mail address, so the setting is correct.
