Signing in to the data room, password and terms of use

How to activate your data room account with the invitation link, how to sign in, what to do if you forget your password, and why you must accept the terms of use.

The data room is a portal on its own web address that requires sign-in; there you view and download the documents of the folders shared with you, always with a watermark. For your first sign-in you receive an invitation link and set your own password with it.

First sign-in with the invitation

  1. Open the link from the invitation e-mail. The link can be used once and is valid for 7 days.
  2. On the Set your password page fill in New password and Confirm password (at least 8 characters).
  3. Click Set password and sign in; you are signed in automatically.

Signing in later

  1. Open the data room address and enter Username and Password.
  2. On your own device you may tick Keep me signed in on this device (30 days).
  3. Click Sign in. Sign out with Sign out.

If you forgot your password, enter your username or e-mail address: if the account exists, you receive a link by e-mail to set a new password. The link can be used once and is valid for 2 hours.

Terms of use

If the data room operator made it mandatory, the terms page appears first after sign-in. It shows who is making the declaration (your name, username and e-mail address). Until you accept the terms, the data room shows no documents. If the text of the terms changes, you have to accept again.

Before your first watermarked download or share a notice also appears: only watermarked copies can be downloaded, downloads are logged, and you are responsible for passing them on.

For the administrator

In User → Users the Data room terms of use card on the user form shows the acceptance status ("Accepted", "Not accepted yet"). With Require acceptance again the user has to accept the terms again at the next sign-in.

"Invalid username or password, or the account is inactive." — this message appears for wrong data or a disabled account. The system checks on every request whether the account is still active.

Example

Anna Kovács receives an invitation on 2 Nov 2026, sets her password, accepts the terms, and the Shared with me view opens with the folder "Minta utca 1. – offering material".
